Compatibility with all major 3D formats

Send any 3D file to your RP system! It is possible thanks to Magics' compatibility with all major CAD formats and point cloud formats. Import any of these formats for production on a RP machine or for tool design. You can indicate the accuracy of the conversion.

Magics enables the conversion of the following formats:

Import capabilities - Base module:

 

  • 3DM - Native format of Rhinoceros. Versions up to 4.0 are supported.
  • 3DS – Former native format of 3D Studio Max
  • DXF - Only 3DFACE entities are imported.
  • OBJ – mostly used in Games industry
  • PLY/ZCP - Format was principally designed to store three dimensional data from 3D scanners
  • SketchUp - Native format of Google SketchUp. Versions up to 7.1 are supported. Currently is available only in 32-bit configuration. 
  • VRML - VRML 1.0 and 97 are supported.
  • ZPR – Z Corp format

  • Acis Sat (module)
  • Batch Import - enables the import and fixing of multiple files with fixing presets for each format
  • Catia 4 - Versions up to 4.5x are supported.
  • Catia 5 - Versions from R7 to R19 are supported
  • IGES – Popular format of CAD systems
  • Jt - Versions up to 8.2 are supported
  • Point Clouds
  • Pro/Engineer - Versions from Pro/E 2000 to WildFire 5 are supported.
  • SLC to STL
  • Solidworks – Native format of Solidworks
  • STEP - Versions AP 214 and AP 203 are supported
  • Unigraphics/Parasolid - Versions from V15 to UGNX 5 are supported
  • VDAFS
