Patient-specific designs: implants and guides

It is no longer difficult to perform design operations on complex anatomical data. Our forward engineering technology provides you with the full range of standard CAD tools to design your patient-specific implants and surgical guides directly on the anatomical data ensuring a perfect fit and eliminating the lengthy and error-prone process of reverse engineering. In addition, virtual design iterations shorten the time-to-patient.

The Mimics Innovation Suite also allows you to develop patient-specific surgical guides for minimally invasive surgery. These ensure that virtual surgery plans are accurately transferred to the patient, reducing intra-operative decision-making.

Following the patient-specific approach, you will be able to shorten the intervention period, reduce OR costs, decrease anaesthesia time and expedite the patient’s recovery.

Our software allows you to:

  • Use standard CAD tools, such as extrude, offset, hollow, mirror and Boolean operations
  • Ensure perfect fit and placement of your implant by effortlessly removing undercuts
  • Smooth your data and design with shrinkwrap
  • Define macros for frequently used work flows
  • Export to the FEA/CFD package of your choice
